Lily Allen: not that upset about US visa/gig cancellations
Lily Allen isn’t really too bothered about been banned from performing in the US, according to her best friend, TV presenter Miquita Oliver.
Lily’s work visa was revoked last month, causing her to cancel her tour dates in the country next month and drop out of a performance with Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards.
During her performance at the V Festival, Chelmsford site, yesterday, Lily called US president George W Bush a “f****** c***” and told the audience: “I’ve been banned from America. That’s nice. Oh well, that means I can’t go back there. Good.”
“I’m going to dedicate this to the US. Obviously I’m really sad I can’t do my US tour. The shame is on you, the US Immigration Service.”
But according to Miquita, Lily isn’t really that sad because it means she gets a few weeks off work: “Lily’s not bothered at all. She just wants to relax and chill out with her boyfriend and her mates.”
“She’s not in the slightest bit upset, in fact it’s quite the opposite.”
The tour dates were originally scheduled to take place in May but Lily had to pull out due to exhaustion and homesickness. The gigs have now been cancelled all together.
