Lindsay Lohan is reportedly set to meet with her estranged farther for the first time in over two years.

According to the New York Post, Michael Lohan is set to visit his eldest daughter in rehab in Utah in the next few days.

A source told the newspaper: “It was actually her older brother, Michael’s, idea. It’s a part of the healing process. Lindsay will see him later this week, but she will have counsellors with her. It will not be alone.”

Lindsay has not seen her father since he separated from her mum, Dina Lohan, and was set to jail in 2005 for drink-driving related offences. He has repeatedly tried to contact her before and since his release in March this year but Lindsay has refused to see him. Now that Michael and Dina have resolved many of their outstanding issues, including custody of Lindsay’s younger siblings, Dina has had her restraining order against him lifted and is happy about the dad-daughter reconcilation.

The source continued: “Dina thinks it is a good idea. Lindsay needs to deal with this and needs closure.”
