Owen Wilson was released from hospital and returned to his Santa Monica home yesterday for the first time since he tried to kill himself there last weekend.

Owen has been receiving treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles following his overdose last Sunday, and his family, particularly brothers Andrew and Luke Wilson, have been with him almost constantly during his stay - and the watchful eye will continue now that Owen has returned home.

A source told People magazine: “Owen is in bad mental shape but said he is thankful to be alive.”

“He knows he came close to ending his life, and he is happy that he was saved from himself.”

“He is basically at home with people watching him 24/7.”

In related news, Jane Seymour has offered her support Wedding Crashers co-star support during his difficulties. She told Entertainment Tonight: “I don’t know what happened, but I know he’s a great guy and this too shall pass.”

“He has a great family and people who love him. He’ll be okay.”
