Owen Wilson’s family want him to get professional help
Owen Wilson’s family are reportedly urging the actor to enter a medical facility or get one-to-one counselling after his recent suicide attempt.
Owen spent a week at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after taking the overdose at the end of last month and returned to his Santa Monica home at the weekend.
A source told Us Weekly that the family - his brothers Andrew and Luke Wilson, as well as parents Bob and Laura - are watching him around the clock but they realise that’s not a long term solution.
The source revealed: “They’re looking into getting Owen help, either a treatment facility or someone one-on-one.”
“No one close to him knew how anxious and overwhelmed he was feeling. Now he doesn’t have to hide behind the comedian mask anymore.”
“It’s been particularly hard on [brother] Luke, but he’s taking a strong role in the recovery.”

Suicide, whether succesful or attempted, is a result of mental disease. There is a significant lack of hope, of the ability to have faith or vision in things getting better. Suicide is rarely a result of an event (such as a breakup, drugs, legal issues), but many of those events are symptoms of the mental health issues that result in suicide. Amazingly, particularly intelligent persons, those who have extremely high standards for themselves seem to be susceptible. No one jokes about committing suicide. If you hear someone even joke about it, get help.
