FT Blog: John Cusack’s 10 Good Films
I’m quite a fan of John Cusack but I think I’d agree with him that most of his films … aren’t that great. Here’s the 10 of his films that I’d say are the good ones. (He agrees to the top two by the way)
- Being John Malkovich - a great, great weird film
- Grosse Pointe Blank - a old favourite of mine, watched many times for the awesome, witty dialogue and a pre-Entourage Jeremy Piven
- High Fidelity - loved the book, loved the adaptation (and not just for Jack Black).
- The Road to Wellville - I’m a huge fan of TC Boyle’s books so this is a bit of a given
- Bullets over Broadway - Woody Allen ftw!
- (So on that path…) Shadows and Fog - although I can’t watch it often
- The Sure Thing - I have a big thing for teen movies from the 1980s. It’s not exactly a quality movie but it’s fun.
- (and on the subject…) Say Anything - iconic teen movie scenes a go go
- (and) Sixteen Candles - he’s in it for about 10 seconds but so young!
- Bob Roberts - another small role but a great film
