P Diddy and long-term partner Kim Porter may not be as broken up as they claim to be.

Earlier in the week, Essence magazine published an interview with Kim about the couple’s split in July. She explained she packed up their house, taking everything including furniture while Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was out of town “because there was no other way. You think he would have let me walk out the door? He wouldn’t have wanted me to go.”

“I wanted to be dramatic. I wanted him to know I wasn’t breaking up with him for two weeks - or maybe leaving for two days. If I pack up everything - twins and all - it means I’m out! [He]’s an action person, not a talk person. So I had to have an action. Telling him, ‘Babe, I’m leaving?’ was not gonna do it.”

“I left because at this point in my life I want something different for myself. I invested 10 years, I have children, and I’ve always stood by him. But now it’s time for me and what I want to do for Kim.”

But according to the New York Daily News, the two were closer than ever at New York club Tenjune’s first anniversary party on Wednesday night.

An onlooker told the newspaper: “She was just gazing into Diddy’s eyes. Their faces were literally inches apart. It looked like they were still very much in love.”

Diddy and Kim were first together in the mid-1990s and had a son, Christian. They separated for a few years around the millennium but reunited again in 2003, with Kim giving birth to twin girls last December.
