The Spice Girls are reportedly recording a song in honour of Princess Diana.

The girl group hope to include the track called ‘Lady’ as a double A-side with their comeback single ‘Woman’, scheduled for release in November this year.

A source told the People newspaper: “They have always said how highly they thought of her and want to do something to pay their respects.”

“[Emma Bunton] came up with the plan because she felt particularly guilty the girls were forced to turn down the chance to appear in the Concert for Diana earlier this summer due to her pregnancy.”

“[Victoria Beckham] in particular became the next big thing in the media after Diana and in some ways they feel guilty about that.”

“[Geri Halliwell] was a huge fan and refers to Diana as the original Queen of Girl Power. She has been key in ensuring the single and video demonstrate that in a tasteful way.”
