The biggest photo news today is obviously related to last night’s MTV Video Music Awards. The red carpet saw a whole host of dressed-up stars including Rihanna, Beyonce Knowles (and sister Solange Knowles), Jennifer Garner, Hayden Panettiere, Megan Fox, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and a bouffantastic Paris Hilton.
Britney Spears didn’t traipse down the red carpet though - she was too busy inside preparing for her comeback performance to open the show. She got to hang out with her fellow celebrities the previous evening though - she was spotted at the Christina Aguilera hosted party at LAX nightclub at the Luxor Hotel on Saturday night with cousin Alli Sims and former BFF Paris Hilton.
The VMAs weren’t the weekend’s only award ceremony: the 59th Annual Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place on Saturday, with guests including Spike Lee, ER stars Maura Tierney and Mekhi Phifer, and Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry.
And in France, the 33rd American Film Festival in Deauville continued with Eva Mendes attending the screening of her film Before the devil knows you’re dead.

New York’s Fashion Week continues as well. Victoria Beckham was spotted at LAX (the airport this time) en route to the Big Apple on Friday.
Jessica Simpson was spotted with her mum in front row seats at the Michael Kors show on Saturday.
Nicky Hilton was snapped nipping between shows with boyfriend David Katzenberg.
And temporarily bored of fashion, Demi Moore stepped out for dinner with her husband Ashton Kutcher.
In California, Jessica Biel attended the Third Annual Walker Pink Party in Santa Monica on Saturday in aid of cancer research.
And in Utah, Lindsay Lohan was snapped having a moment out of rehab - and with her dad Michael Lohan after their reconcilation earlier in the week.
