FergieBlack Eyed Peas star Fergie has said the media and people in general need to be more forgiving of the antics of the likes of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan - because they’re young and will grow out of it.

Fergie, who spent time in rehab for a crystal meth addiction in her early 20s, said recently: “[These women like Britney and Lindsay,] they’re young. I was young when I went through my stuff.

“Leave them alone. If they want to get better, they’re going to get better on their own. If somebody is going to change, they have to want to do it themselves. I think it is really unfair to [follow] them when they are trying to get help.”

“We’re all watching as a nation and commenting day by day on their rehabilitation. It’s not fair. You’re supposed to have a sanctuary, a place where you can go and not be pressured every day.”

Lindsay is currently in her third rehab programme of the year at Cirque Lodge in Utah while Britney spent time at Promises Treatment Center in Malibu in Feburary/March.
