Mary-Kate Olsen: I live my life to avoid photographers
Mary-Kate Olsen has admitted that she tries to stay out of the paparazzi’s eye as much as possible, even if that means avoiding certain restaurants, shops and activities.
She told Entertainment Weekly recently that she makes “conscious decisions every day of my life” to avoid being constantly photographed: “I would love to be able to swim in the ocean in Malibu. But that is asking for a bikini shot. That’s inviting something that I don’t want to happen.”
“I don’t need to be on a ‘Who’s Skinny, Who’s Fat, Who’s Looking Healthy, Who’s Not Eating?’ list.”
When she is spotted, “I cover my face so they don’t get a picture [but that makes me] the mean person who doesn’t smile.”
Mary-Kate’s 10-show storyline on TV series Weeds is set start later this month and while Mary-Kate is excited about the role, she added that there are times when she considers quitting showbusiness entirely: “There’s definitely been times in my life when I just turned to people and said, ‘I’m done, this is too much for me, this is too overwhelming.’”
