Jennifer Lopez has reportedly agreed to be the support act for the US leg of the Spice Girls comeback tour later in the year.

The reunited girl group are set to play in San Jose, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York in December and Jennifer is said to have agreed to gigs for close friend, Victoria Beckham.

She is quoted in the People newspaper as saying: “I’d love to get back out there on tour and I’d really like to perform on the same stage as the Spice Girls.”

“Even before we were friends, [Victoria] was always my favourite.”

A source close to the band added that the tour organisers are hoping for similarly high profile support acts for the rest of the world tour: “The girls want to appeal to all generations and produce a show that will go down in history.”

“They have a hit-list of people they want and so far everyone is saying yes. They even joked about asking [Geri Halliwell and Melanie Chisholm’s ex-boyfriend] Robbie Williams to join them.”

The women are expected to start rehearsals for the tour in Los Angeles next month and are set to release a newly recorded single in November.
