Kerry Katona has reportedly been sent a tax demand for £750,000 - and if she can’t pay £200,000 of it immediately, she’ll face bankruptcy proceedings in court.

Since appearing on I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here in 2004, Kerry is said to have earned up to £5million for interviews & photo shoots, writing her autobiography and her stint as the face of freezer chain Iceland. However friends say the former Atomic Kitten believed her accountant was dealing with the Inland Revenue and the correct taxes had been paid - so was surprised by the arrival of the colossal bill.

A source close to the tabloid figure told the News of the World that Kerry may have problems paying the bill because her new husband Mark Croft encourages to spend all her money. The couple, who recently returned from a luxury holiday, have a collection of sports cars and a £1.2million home in Cheshire.

The friend told the newspaper: “Mark is the problem. He is bleeding her dry. If the deals stop coming in, she’ll be skint in five minutes.”

A spokesperson for Kerry confirmed that there were some outstanding tax issues but they are currently in “discussions” and “it will be sorted”.
