Drug testing & parenting coaching for Britney Spears & Kevin Federline
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have both been ordered to undergo twice weekly alcohol and drug tests as part of their ongoing custody battle.
The couple currently share joint custody of their sons, two year old Sean and one year old Jayden, but Kevin is challenging for a 70/30 split in light of Britney’s recent behaviour.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, who is overseeing the case, said yesterday that “based on the evidence presented”, he is concerned with Britney’s “habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol” and wants to monitor the situation.
The tests will ensure that neither party will “consume alcohol or other non-prescription controlled substance during or for 12 hours immediately preceding any period such party is responsible for the health and safety of the minor children.”
In addition, both Britney and Kevin will have to meet with a parenting coach twice a week over the next few weeks, for a total of 8 hours, and enroll in a ‘Parenting Without Conflict’ pogramme by the end of the week, attending joint co-parent counselling sessions.
They have also been barred from “using corporal punishment with the minor children and from allowing anyone else to do so” and aren’t allowed to make “derogatory remarks about the other party and the other party’s family or significant other” in either public or private.
The next hearing in the case will take place on 26th November.
