Bob Geldof has been accused of being a bad father and only interested in money by the mother of Michael Hutchence.

INXS star Michael had a daughter, Tiger Lily, with Bob’s ex-wife Paula Yates in July 1996 before he died in November of that year. When Paula died of a accidental heroin overdose in 2000, then four year old Tiger went to live with Bob and her half-siblings Fifi, Peaches and Pixie. Bob was appointed her legal guardian and recently made plans to formally adopt the now 11 year old girl.

However, speaking on Australian TV, Michael’s mother Patricia Glassop has said she thinks Bob is only interested in Michael’s fortune and that he has attempted to sever the girl’s ties with Michael’s family.

Patricia said she has only seen Tiger Lily twice in seven years, once in London and the girl stayed with her for five days in Australia last year: “I think he is cruel, very cruel to keep her from her family. I am not allowed to speak to her on the phone. He’s even changed the phone number.”

“She rang here five nights in a row when she went home, begging to come to live with us but Bob, of course, wouldn’t let her.”

“Whoever gets the child gets the inheritance.”

“We just hope Tiger gets to hear that we want her. If we can’t have custody then we would like annual visits.”

Bob landed an honorary knighthood for his charity work under the Live Aid banner but Patricia believes that’s just a front: “He’s certainly not a saint, I can’t see that side of him at all. I think he is Satan.”

She added that Bob had raised his own daughter “like hippies” and he “has no control over anything” the girls do in public. Patricia is particularly worried about 18 year old Peaches’ influence on Tiger: “I don’t think she should be Tiger’s role model. Tiger knows about it and reads about it.”
