Pete Doherty has reportedly met up with his estranged father for the first time in three years.

Pete’s dad, an officer in the Army, cut off the Babyshambles frontman over his drug use but now Pete is attempted to kick crack and heroin once and for all, the two men met last week at Pete’s rehab centre, Clouds House in Wiltshire. Pete’s four year old son, Astile, was also present - the first time the three generations had ever been together.

Pete’s manager Andy Boyd confirmed the meeting and added that it is another step on the musician road to recovery: “He has realised the important things in his life.”

“He wants to be a father to his son — and a son to his father. He sees a future without drugs.”

Pete faces jail next month related to drug possession charges unless he is seen to be sufficiently motivated in kicking his habit.
