Kerry KatonaKerry Katona lost her unborn baby yesterday, just hours after her pregnancy was publicly announced in OK magazine.

Kerry announced that she was “five or six” weeks pregnant on Tuesday but was worried because she had started bleeding. She lost the baby at her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire last night.

Her spokesperson Max Clifford confirmed the news: “Kerry was only a few weeks pregnant. She’s sad but she’s young and healthy and they had a baby not so long ago.”

“She’s as good as she can be in the circumstances. She’s resilient, as always. They’re upset but they’ll bounce back. She’s handling it as best she can.”

He said that Kerry herself added: “We have four lovely, healthy, happy children between us and although [husband Mark Croft] and I are very sad, we are both counting our blessings and have a lot to be grateful for.”

Kerry has two daughters from her previous marriage to Westlife star Brian McFadden and gave birth to daughter Heidi just after marrying Mark in February this year. Mark also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

Around a quarter of pregnancy result in a miscarriage during the first six weeks.
