Pamela Anderson and Rick SalomonIt looks like we might have jumped the gun on the Pamela Anderson/Rick Salomon marriage story - despite earlier reports, it looks like the couple only applied for - and were granted - a marriage license in Las Vegas on Saturday rather than tying the knot itself.

Sources have told various media outlets that the new couple - said to have got together when Pamela racked up a poker debt and paid it off with a kiss - applied for the permit on Saturday before heading back to spend the rest of the weekend at Pamela’s Malibu beach house.

A source close to the former Baywatch actress told People magazine that since they got together, Pamela and Rick have been inseparable: “Rick is always with her. He’s backstage when she does her show [with magician Hans Klok] all the time.”

Another source told OK magazine that the original plan had been to marry on Saturday but they worried about rushing it: “In the end, they decided to not go through with it right away. So they just flew back to L.A. to think things over.”

Pamela’s spokesperson refused to comment on the marriage license rumours but stated, categorically, that the star is “not married” at the moment.

Pamela has been married twice before - to Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee between 1995 and 1998, and to Kid Rock for three months last year. Rick was married to Beverly Hills 90210 star Shannon Doherty between 2002-3: Shannon divorced him after he filmed the One Night in Paris sex-tape with Paris Hilton.
