Pete Doherty reportedly tried to kill himself after hearing that ex-girlfriend Kate Moss was in love with a new man.

Pete left the Clouds House rehab clinic in Wiltshire this week after six weeks of treatment and is said to have passed weekly drug tests during his stay at the facility. But his minder, Johnny “Headlock” Jeannevol has told the News of the World that while the Babyshambles frontman is getting his life back on track now, he was briefly derailed when he found out about Kate and The Kills’ guitarist Jamie Hince.

Jeannevol told the newspaper: “Pete was so low during rehab his legal team considered sectioning him under the Mental Health Act in order to get him the treatment he needed.”

“To begin with Kate was ringing him up all the time, concerned for his well-being. But when Pete started to quiz her about the new guy, she was evasive and it got to him. She messed with his head.”

“[He was] really wound up over Kate showing off her new man. He saw an opportunity to take an overdose and took it. He told me he didn’t know what the pills were but thought ‘f*** it’ and took them all.”

“It was touch and go with [him] for a while but he pulled through in the end.”

“But now he’s out and happy. He’s trying to keep off the drugs and needs his own space. Hopefully Kate will stay away this time but she can’t help herself. She’s obsessed with him.”
