Lindsay Lohan has described how “humbling” she found rehab and like when Paris Hilton left jail in June, Lindsay has pledged to turn her life around and help others from now on.

Speaking in her second leaving-rehab interview, Lindsay told In Touch Weekly recently: “It was hard surrendering and having people tell me what to do. It was really humbling for me, but I liked how I was treated as a normal person. I kept the common areas clean. I liked making coffee for the gym the best.”

“It’s been a great experience. I’m really grateful. Everything happens for a reason and I am in the right place now.”

“I’m [also] planning a trip to Africa during the second week in December. I’m working with the American Red Cross, but it is not finalized yet.”

She added that her “self-destructive” habits are now behind her: “Partying and having all of those pictures taken distracts from the work that I do. It’s not why I started acting. I didn’t get into acting to be written about.”

“It kind of just happened - so I accept that it’s my life. But there are some things that I can do to make changes and grow up. I want to act like a woman rather than a teenager. I am doing the best I can.”

“The trouble in my family resulted in me rebelling and doing things to try to get my parents’ attention. But all in all, it’s better for me now to have them [in my life]. It’s healthy.”

She also took the opportunity to apologise to her young fans for her behaviour: “I just want to apologize to any of my fans that look up to me, especially my younger fans, for setting the examples that I didn’t mean to set. That is one of the reasons that I want to change things. I don’t want to be known as that person.”

“I have a younger sister and she looks up to me, too. All the negative stuff that gets said hurts my feelings, it hurts my sister, Ali, and my family.”

Lindsay spent two months in treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Utah following her second DUI in two months in July.
