Janet JacksonJanet Jackson has said she has no immediate plans to marry long-term boyfriend Jermaine Dupri because walking down the aisle really doesn’t mean anything to her.

Janet has been married twice previously - to James DeBarge when she was just 18, then to business partner René Elizondo Jr between 1991-1999 - but even though she’s been in a relationship with producer Jermaine for over six years, she has now said she doesn’t think she’ll go for the hat-trick.

Speaking at the premiere of her new film, the ironically titled Why Did I Get Married?, she told Extra: “I don’t need a piece of paper to validate what we have. But that’s just me.”

She added though that if they did ever go through with it, she would like it to be a traditional event and she would take his last name, giving them the same initials “J.D.”.
