Continuing her plans to use her fame for good, Paris Hilton has said she wants to “leave a mark on the world” beyond a million paparazzi photographs.

She told Newsweek recently: “Before [going to jail], my life was about having fun, going to parties - it was a fantasy. But when I had time to reflect, I felt empty inside. I want to leave a mark on the world.”

She is planning to visit Rwanda next month with a children’s charity to raise awareness of the ongoing poverty in the former wartorn area and admits: “I’m scared, yeah. I’ve heard it’s really dangerous. I’ve never been on a trip like this before.”

In related news, she is also said to be planning a prisoner outreach programme for one lucky future inmate - Kiefer Sutherland.

A source told the Daily Star the socialite plans to visit Kiefer during his expected 48 day jail sentence starting in December: “Paris feels she can make this whole experience easier on Kiefer.”

“It was the most life-changing experience for her when she was jailed, but also so hard. She feels she’s well informed about the celeb incarceration thing.”

“The pressure is so much more when you’re famous, so she’s said she’ll be there. She’d like to record a diary [about it] - perhaps even 24 style.”
