Pete Doherty is said he’s looking forward to the next Babyshambles tour because, now he’s clean, he’ll be a better performer.

Pete told BBC Radio 1 recently that he frequently missed shows because of his drug habit and even when he managed to get out on stage, he can’t remember many of his performances so suspects the worst about them.

When asked if he was worried about the damage his behaviour caused to his musical reputation, he replied: “Well, it’s difficult to think of something that you can’t remember but ‘embarrassing’ is the right word sometimes.”

He added that being able to talk about that, and about making their music in the first place, was also a novel experience because he previously couldn’t remember what happened: “It’s quite unusual for us to be sat down talking about what it is to make a record. We’ve never done it before, we just wouldn’t be here.”

Babyshambles‘ second album ‘Shotter’s Nation’ was released earlier this month.
