Melanie Chisholm has suggested she doesn’t approve of her fellow Spice Girls‘ attitudes to parenting.

Mel’s bandmates are said to be planning to take their children along with them on the band’s forthcoming world tour but even though their private jet “Spice Force One” has been fitted with a number of home comforts including a nursery, Mel doesn’t think it’s such a good idea.

She said recently: “Travelling around the world and living out of a suitcase is no place for a baby.”

The increasingly broody singer added: “If I’m blessed with a kid I’d want to be a regular mum. I’d want to be at home taking them to school and being there full-time. I wouldn’t want to be travelling the world with them strapped to my back.”

Between them, Melanie’s four bandmates have seven children: Victoria Beckham has three sons (Brooklyn, Romeo & Cruz), Melanie Brown has two daughters (Phoenix Chi and Angel) and Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton have a single daughter (Bluebell) and son (Beau) respectively.

In related news, Melanie expressed concern recently that the women might be shadows of their former selves when it comes to setting the stage ablaze with fancy dance moves.

Despite Melanie Brown’s high kicks and splits on Dancing with the Stars, Mel C told ITV’s Loose Women recently: “We are not as young and flexible as we used to be.”

“Emma and I have been talking about how, when we get up in the morning, our knees are creaky.”

“We’re nervous because how are we going to do those dance routines?”
