Prince William is reportedly planning to propose to girlfriend Kate Middleton during a private holiday in the Caribbean over Christmas.

William is said to be planning the romantic holiday at a secret location in the Bahamas with the view to making it extra special.

A source, said to be a senior Royal aide, told the People newspaper: “They are stronger than ever. She hasn’t put a foot wrong since they rekindled their romance.”

“Popping the question at the Bahamas in the run up to Christmas would be much more appropriate.”

“With William finishing off his military career with stints in the Navy and RAF next year, there appears no further need to wait.”

“And that is also the view of the Queen, who has told him he cannot keep dithering like his father Prince Charles if he is serious about Kate.”

But a second source told the Mail on Sunday disagrees, saying the pair still have no intention of rushing into marriage even after a four year relationship: “William is very happy at the moment and everything is great with him and Kate, but he’s aware that now their romance is back on track all the speculation about a Royal wedding will start up again.”

“He and Kate have had a lot of discussions about their future together. William has told Kate he is in no hurry to get engaged and that while he does want to get married, he doesn’t want to marry just yet. [And] as long as Wills behaves himself, Kate will be happy to wait. She’s young and in love, but also not in any hurry to get married.”

The source added that, so far, the couple are planning on spending Christmas apart: “Kate will be with her family and William with his, but they will make time to be together.”
