• Newly-single Pete Doherty was reportedly keen to get an introduction to Joss Stone at the MTV Europe Music Awards last night - but she wasn’t interested. According to the Mirror, Pete hung around outside Joss’ dressing room for quite a while but no one offered to introduce them and he didn’t take the initiative himself. And probably for the best - when Joss heard he was an possible admirer, she said: “Oh pur…lease. I thought he was still going out with Kate Moss. He hasn’t got a chance with me.”
  • Pete has reportedly bought a new nine-bedroom country home in Wiltshire in an effort to leave behind his previous drug-fuelled life in London. Pete already owns a smaller property in Marlborough but hopes that his new place will become a creative retreat for his musical friends. A source told the Sun: “Pete is enjoying having his base outside London. He wants a bigger place so musicians can visit from the Smoke and have plenty of room to create and relax. There would be enough space for a studio so he can make the most of his time.”
  • Speaking of which, Pete has confirmed that he will record a duet with friend Amy Winehouse. The pair were rumoured to be planning a song together at the MTV Europe Awards but while that didn’t come together in time, Pete has confirmed they’ve written a track together. He told the Mirror: “I have written a duet with Amy. It’s given us the opportunity to talk about what’s plaguing us because nobody will understand it unless they are going through it themselves.”
