  • Tom Cruise has discovered that just because he’s an A-list star and has friends in all the right places, it doesn’t mean he can always get what he wants. The Lions for Lambs star revealed recently that he wanted tickets to see the Spice Girls on their two Los Angeles dates during their comeback tour in December but close friend Victoria Beckham couldn’t help: “You know what, I phoned Victoria but she said, ‘I’m sorry we’re sold out.’”
  • The Rolling Stones might have had a few of their own drug controversies over the years but the band’s guitarist Ronnie Wood insists their intake was nothing compared to Pete Doherty. Ronnie revealed recently: “Backstage at the Isle of Wight festival [this year], Pete asked to use our toilet and three hours later we had to scrape him off the floor. We weren’t like that.” Pete is now drug-free after undergoing intensive treatment in rehab.
