Top five stories of the week

• Heather Mills appeared on GMTV and assorted other television shows to criticise the “abuse” she’s had from the press over the last year and to reiterate that she has tape recordings of Paul McCartney admitting he hit his late wife, Linda McCartney. She also claimed she asked Paul to protect her from the media onslaught but he hasn’t done anything.
• Britney Spears had her visitation rights cut back even further but claims she’s doing the best she can with her boys. She also was subject to new rumours about her substance abuse and mental health, and details of her monthly spending were revealed.
• A new round of “Angelina Jolie is pregnant!” rumours kicked off.
• David Beckham is said to be lonely and unhappy in LA.
• Lance and Ashley sitting in a, um, New York nightspot; K-I-S-S-I-N-G.
