Cate BlanchettCate Blanchett has confirmed that she’s pregnant with her third child.

Rumours that Cate is expecting kicked off earlier in the week after the Elizabeth star was snapped displaying a small baby-bump over the weekend.

She confirmed the news at the Sydney premiere of Elizabeth: The Golden Age last night.

When asked to confirm rumours that she was expecting a third boy, she replied: “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”

Cate already has two sons - Dash and Roman - with husband Andrew Upton and recently said that she would like to have more children in the near future. Cate and Andrew have recently agreed to be co-directors of the Sydney Theatre Company so their family can settle down in the city now that five year old Dash has started school.
