MC Harvey has said he cheated on his now estranged wife Alesha Dixon because she wasn’t ready to start a family as soon as they got married.

He told the News of the World this week: “I wanted to have children as soon as we tied the knot. That’s what marriage is about to me. I fell out of love because she didn’t want to have kids.”

“Alesha was very successful, she was still searching for something in her career. But I believe your career is not bigger than having kids.”

Harvey and Strictly Come Dancing star Alesha split up last year after he was found to be having an affair with his then West End co-star Javine Hylton - but he insists it hadn’t been going on for long before they were discovered in bed together by Javine’s boyfriend: “I’d only been seeing Javine for four days. We only slept with each other once before I told Alesha it was over.”

“Javine said to me, ‘I understand if you go back to your wife, you’ve got too much to lose’. I was still living with my wife in our lovely house. But sat there, I realised it wasn’t a house that I really wanted to go back to. Javine brought something to my life that I knew I wasn’t getting.”

“I’m in love with Javine but I [still] love Alesha for the woman she was and is. I wish I had done things a better way rather than having an affair.”

Harvey and Javine are now expecting their first child together and he said regarding his new love: “Javine’s stunning and we have a fabulous sex life. She’s my true soulmate and that is something that is very difficult to find. We’ve got a very real and deep connection, even more so now she’s carrying our child. I’m over the moon about being a dad.”

He added the pregnancy has given their sex life a new twist though: “It’s hard having sex with a pregnant woman. It’s challenging but interesting. You have to try lots of new positions. I go to the gym so much now because I’ve got to get the frustration out somehow.”
