Pete Doherty’s (possibly former) fiancee Irina Lazareanu has said she has to fend off drug dealers trying to tempt the Babyshambles frontman.

Model Irina, who denies reports that she has been dumped by the singer, told the Mail on Sunday that even though the pair have fled from his previous haunts in London to Wiltshire as part of Pete’s current probation conditions, drug dealers still hunt them out: “Last week I came home and found a dealer had turned up and I had to throw him out. I don’t known how they find him but they just do. People try to take advantage of Pete and following him around.”

“It’s nice down there and to have him to myself away from all the bad influences of London but I was furious when I found this guy had turned up.”

“The thing is people who used to be in his life won’t let him alone when he is clean.”

Pete has been drug-free after completing a six-week treatment programme last month and Irina added that “the thought of going to jail that has been keeping him away from drugs.”

But Pete’s Babyshambles bandmate Adam Ficek said it’s still a difficult time: “You just need to keep him busy. We are going to help him as much as possible but it’s all down to him keeping himself on the straight and narrow and that’s what he is doing.”

“We’re taking him to Narcotics Anonymous meetings regularly.”
