Pete Doherty has said that contrary to the endless reports about her lifestyle and marriage, Amy Winehouse is “perfectly healthy and happy” these days.

Pete met up with Amy for a drink before the MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich this week and afterwards, when asked if he had any advice for the Back to Black singer, he replied: “I wouldn’t give her any. She’s fine. It’s all bollocks. People should leave her alone.”

“I went for a drink with her earlier today and she’s totally fine. Perfectly healthy and happy.

“People are saying she’s out of control, but she’s not. She’s a sensible girl and she knows what she’s doing. She ain’t doing nothing wrong.”

The pair have written a song together about their former drug problems and are said to be planning to release it as a single next year.
