In news that comes as a COMPLETE SURPRISE to everyone in the gossip world, Christina Aguilera has confirmed that she is pregnant.

Christina has been rumoured to be expecting her first child since June after she and husband Jordan Bratman were spotted leaving the Maternal Fetal Medicine Association in New York and the news has been confirmed by a number of different people close to the star since then as Christina’s baby bump has continued to grow.

Now Christina herself has confirmed the news, telling Glamour magazine she’ll “enter into mommyhood” in the new year and so her only new year’s resolution for 2008 is to “have started a beautiful family with my husband!”

“[Husband Jordan] is thrilled [about the baby]! He’s just great. He’s so supportive and amazing through everything. He came with me on the last leg of the tour and he was my support system… I gush. I’m a lucky girl.”

She added that she will continue working once the baby is born: “I want to get it right, to balance [motherhood] well with my career.”
