Britney Spears to pay $120,000 of Kevin Federline’s legal costs
Britney Spears has been ordered to cover her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s legal costs in their ongoing custody dispute.
Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon agreed to the request after considering the “disparity between the parties’ incomes” and the fact that “the vast majority of the litigation deals with [Britney’s] conduct.”
Kevin initially requested $160,000 to cover his expenses but Gordon judged $120,000 to be sufficient for now - but Britney does have to pay the cost immediately.
Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan was, naturally, pleased with the decision but added that this would just be the first of potentially many similar requests: “We’ve already incurred more fees above the $164,000 in the document, and we expect we will be incurring significant other fees going into the trial. I intend to make further fee orders up to the date of the trial.”
The next scheduled hearing in custody battle will take place on 26th November.
