Nicole Kidman has said she was misquoted in Vanity Fair in September over miscarriages during her marriage to Tom Cruise.

In the interview, Nicole is quoted as saying she lost a baby at the start of the marriage not the end as is much rumoured, and it was the loss of that baby that prompted the couple to adopt their children Isabella and Connor.

However she’s now told Marie Claire, she didn’t miscarry the first baby and she was pregnant just before her split from Tom in 2001: “It was wrongly reported.”

“I had a miscarriage at the end of my marriage - but I had an ectopic pregnancy at the beginning of my marriage. It was incredibly traumatic for me.”

Nicole was just 23 when she married Tom in 1990 and on the first upward wave of her Hollywood career but she insists she “wanted to have babies” from the outset.
