Lily Allen to be the next Doctor Who assistant?
Lily Allen is reportedly in talks with the producers of Doctor Who to be the time-lord’s next assistant.
Since the show returned to British screens in 2005, the Doctor’s companion has been played by Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and, most recently, Catherine Tate but an inside source has claimed that producers hope Lily will take over when Catherine finished her tenure.
The source told the Sun: “Lily is multi-talented. She comes from more of a TV background than a musical one. We hope she’ll take over from Catherine as Dr Who’s assistant.”
“Billie used Dr Who for her transition from music to acting. We think Lily can emulate that.”
“The great thing about the show is it’s good fun but still a cool thing to be involved with. It would be perfect for Lily and she would be perfect for the show.”
“We’ve talked to her and she was excited by the idea.”
Lily is also lined up to front a chat show for the BBC next year.
