Wayne Rooney to take GCSEs in Maths & English next summer
Wayne Rooney is reportedly planning on catching up on his education after picking football over studying the first time around.
Wayne started playing for Everton FC’s youth team at the age of 14 and joined the first team at 16 - just the age when most people would be studying for their GCSEs. Now fiancee Coleen McLoughlin and Alex Ferguson, Wayne’s manager at Manchester United, have encouraged the striker to return to the books.
A source told the Sun: “Wayne has had a lot of advice from Alex about how to fill his time away from football.”
“Fergie said he should do something constructive. Wayne’s girlfriend Coleen has also been encouraging him to get his head in the books. She did well at school and left with ten GCSEs.”
“If all goes to plan he will sit his GCSEs next summer in Maths and English.”
