Reports differ as to whether it was an accident that caused the broken foot or a scheduled operation but his spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post that the music mogul is currently hobbling about: “He did have foot surgery, but I’m not getting into specifics. He’s doing great, and he’s on the mend.”
  • Cheryl Cole has revealed she tried to comfort husband Ashley Cole over England’s recent loss to Croatia, ending the team’s Euro 2008 dreams. The Girls Aloud star told BBC Radio 1: “I told him to get over it and move on because at least now we can go on holiday early. That went down like a lead balloon, but I’m pleased we can go on holiday next summer.” Ashley missed the crucial game through injury but Cheryl added that he shouldn’t mope about the national team’s loss: “He’s a Chelsea player [too] so he’s got to think about playing for them now and get over England losing.”
