• Usher has become a father for the first time after wife Tameka Foster gave birth on Monday evening. Usher Raymond V made his entrance at 9.55pm in Atlanta, Georgia and weight in at 7lbs, 9oz. In a statement released by the couple, they said: “We are so happy and proud of our beautiful son. What a blessing!” The couple, who married over the summer, knew that Tameka was expecting a boy and Usher had previously explained he was keen to pass on his name to his son.
  • Pete Doherty has reportedly turned to meditation and Tai Chi to help centre him on the Babyshambles current UK arena tour. Bandmate Adam Ficek told Xfm recently that the troubled frontman has turned to the techniques as preparation for the shows: “You won’t believe this, but Pete’s actually meditating next door, right now. I’ve got him into it. I do a lot of Tai Chi… Stranger things have happened in the land of Babyshambles.”
