Amy Winehouse has cancelled all of her remaining scheduled appearances for 2007, saying she can’t perform while husband Blake Fielder-Civil is in jail.

Amy started her UK tour earlier in the month and has repeated received negative reviews for her behaviour on stage, including forgetting lyrics and attacking audiences turning hostile.

Amy is said to have met with her management and tour bosses in London yesterday to discuss the options, ending in the Back to Black singer in tears, begging for the outstanding tour dates to be cancelled.

A source told the Sun: “Amy was in Brighton this morning preparing at the Hilton for her gig in Bournemouth. She suddenly left for London for a meeting yesterday afternoon and decided she couldn’t go on.”

“She was in a terrible state in London. She looked awful and had been in floods of tears. She was fragile and weak like an old woman. It was depressing to watch. When the tour was cancelled it was like a weight lifted off her shoulders immediately.”

In a statement released last night, Amy explained: “I can’t give it my all onstage without my Blake. I’m so sorry but I don’t want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it’s just not the same.”

Her spokesperson added that the move was taken after medical advice: “Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year on the instruction of her doctor.”

“The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll. In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues.”

“Refunds for the remaining dates will be issued from the point of purchase.”
