Vanessa HudgensVanessa Hudgens has revealed that while she always wanted to be a professional entertainer, she didn’t intend to become a celebrity.

She told Australia’s Daily Telegraph recently: “I became an actress and started singing and dancing because I truly loved it.”

“I did not want to be a celebrity. … I think fame is just something that comes along when you are in something that is such a success.”

She added that she worries that for many young stars, life in Hollywood can become a dangerous love/hate affair: “People become both jaded and infatuated with Hollywood. I think it happens to a lot of celebrities, and it messes with their head.”

“Everyone is trying to get into your business. I don’t like people staring at me all the time, and I don’t want people following me around.”

But she’s not thinking about quitting the business any time soon - if nothing else, she has to help Gabriella Montez finish high school. The High School Musical gang are set to reprise their roles early in the new year to film the third movie in the franchise - this one being released on the big screen rather than just broadcast on the Disney Channel.

Vanessa told Us Weekly recently that she’s looking forward to returning to East High: “It’s their senior year, so there’s going to be graduation - and prom!”
