Pete Doherty has reportedly made a new (girl)friend and a new enemy (or two) this week.

According to the News of the World, he is dating a girl, Amelie, who once stole one of his blood paintings and tried to sell it on eBay.

A source told the newspaper: “Junkie friends of Pete are always stealing his belongings and trying to flog them on. As an addict himself he knows they have to find cash and usually turns a blind eye.”

“To be honest, Pete rarely had anything of real value to protect with locks so Amelie probably just walked in. But this time he hit the roof. It was obvious it was Amelie because she was the only one who’d been around at the time.”

“It wasn’t exactly the crime of the century but he rang her up and remonstrated with her. She confessed, apologised and handed the picture back - but her antics sparked an interest in him. And now they’re most definitely an item.”

“Amelie’s been on the scene for ages living at Pete’s various London hangouts. But now she’s going out to the house he rents in Marlborough, Wiltshire, to be with him because of the curfew banning him from London as part of his bail conditions.”

Pete was momentarily in London last week though to support friend Amy Winehouse at her gigs in Brixton before she cancelled the remaining dates in her tour. However, Amy’s dad Mitch Winehouse was reportedly less than happy to see Pete backstage.

An onlooker told the Sun: “[Mitch] told him to leave Amy alone, saying that he was the last person she needs at moment.”

“Pete was smirking until Mitch turned and whacked him [with a guitar].”

Pete is also said to have had a visit from the RSPCA last week after claiming he gave his kittens crack. A friend of Pete’s, producer Jake Foir, told the Sunday Mirror: “The RSPCA came last week, so this week they’ve been getting posh cat food from Waitrose.”
