Madonna and Guy Ritchie are keen for their son David to be able to speak a language from his native Malawi as he grows up - but their oldest child, daughter Lourdes, wants the little boy to speak French too.

A source close to the family told the Sun that 11 year old Lourdes, who attends the Lycee Francais school in London is teaching him basic French while Mum and Dad use the few Chichewa words they know - including “mummy”, “daddy”, “hello” and “my love” - around the boy daily with the hope that he’ll pick them up.

The source explained: “He only just learning to speak but he uses a combination of all three languages (English, French and Chichewa), and answers ‘oui, oui’ to most requests.”

The source added that Madonna regularly sings a Chichewa lullaby to the two year old boy and there is a strong bond between the pair: “David constantly wants his mum to hold him, asks for kisses, smiles and seems extremely attached to Madonna. She is completely ga-ga over him.”
