Masked gang raid Steven Gerrard & Alex Curran’s £3million home
WAG Alex Curran found herself face to face with masked burglars on Tuesday as they robbed the home she shares with husband, England star Steven Gerrard.
Alex was at home with daughters Lilly-Ella and Lexie when the gang broke down the door of their £3million property in Formby, Merseyside, as Steven was away in France playing for Liverpool FC in their match against Marseille. Alex was watching the game at home with a friend when she heard the gang enter and went to investigate.
A source close to the couple told the Mirror: “She was so shocked at the sight of the men in her home she wasn’t even sure how many of them there were.”
“She just said there were ‘loads’ of them. She was shaken up bigtime.”
The gang are believed to have taken many thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, possibly including a £10,000 Cartier watch that Alex recently bought Steven for a Christmas present.
The source continued: “The burglars trashed the place trying to find the valuables. Alex is heartbroken. But she’s trying to be strong for Steven and the kids.”
Alex herself added: “It was absolutely terrifying, a horrendous experience. Lilly and Lexie were my biggest concern. Thankfully, they’re fine as they managed to sleep through the whole thing.”
“I’m still feeling really shaken up and too traumatised about the whole thing to talk about it much. I just don’t want to relive it all. Fortunately we’re all OK. Now it’s all in the hands of the police.”
Police are linking the break-in other raids on the homes of Liverpool players as this is the sixth such raid in 18 months.
