Miley Cyrus: I want to be a good role model
While many young stars are getting pregnant, getting busted for DUIs or heading to rehab, Miley Cyrus has said she strives hard to be a good role model for her young fans.
The Hannah Montana star told the Oprah Winfrey show yesterday that she thinks of her audience when she picks out her outfits for red carpet events: “I say what I’m comfortable in and what I like and nothing that’s too out there.”
“I like to look kind of like what girls would want to look up to, and their moms and dads will say, ‘Hey, that’s cool. That’s different.’”
She is also keen not to project a more adult image when she’s just 15: “I look way young and that’s the way that’s more comfortable for me.”
She added her own celebrity role models are Hilary Duff (”because she’s someone I got to watch [on TV] and I’m like ‘hey, she’s a normal girl too’”] and friend Ashley Tisdale - although she hasn’t seen the new nosed Ashley for a few weeks because they’re both so busy with their careers: “I miss her so much.”
“Every time that I’m home, when I want to go see her, she’s working too. So I miss her a lot.”
