Michelle Rodriguez surrendered herself yesterday afternoon to begin her six-month jail sentence in Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff, the former Lost star was booked at 4.33pm yesterday at the Century Regional Detention Facility at Lynwood.

Michelle was given the six-month sentence on 10th October after she admitted violating her probation by failing to complete community service and consuming alcohol while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device.

The overseeing judge, Superior Court Judge Davianna L Mitchell has said Michelle will not be eligible for the early release programme enjoyed by Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie but sources say the sheriff may have no choice but to override the order because of over-crowding. She also may receive time off her sentence for good behaviour.

The prison stay is Michelle’s third custodial stay in the last 18 months: in May 2006, she spent 4 hours and 20 minutes of a two month sentence in Lynwood then a further two days in a Honolulu jail following a December 2005 DUI in Hawaii.
