Ethan Hawke to become a dad again

Ethan HawkeEthan Hawke is set to become a dad for the third time after it was revealed that girlfriend Ryan Shawhughes is pregnant.

Ethan reportedly met Ryan several years ago when she was working as a nanny for Maya and Levon, Ethan’s 9 year old daughter and five year old son from his relationship with Uma Thurman.

Ethan’s spokesperson confirmed the pregnancy yesterday and said both Ethan & Ryan are “thrilled” with the news.

The baby is due over the summer.

Jessica Alba: baby weight is a shock to the system

Jessica AlbaJessica Alba has revealed she’s finding it difficult to get her head around how her body is changing during her pregnancy.

At nearly five months along, the Fantastic Four star is developing quite a sizeable bump and she told the Today Show recently that while it’s not obviously a complete surprise, it’s still a bit disoreintating to gain so much weight so quickly: “You go, ‘What’s happening?’ You definitely have to go with the flow.”

“You have to surrender, but it’s a shock to the system.”

The baby, with fiance Cash Warren, wasn’t planned but Jessica explained that she’s happy to be expecting: “I’ve always loved kids and I’ve always wanted kids, so this is, you know, it’s kind of perfect.”

“I feel really blessed. I feel really lucky. This is the best time ever … It’s the best year.”

However, she became coy when asked whether her “best year” would include a walk down the aisle, just replying: “I’ve thought about [getting married]. I’ve thought about it, yeah.”

Britney Spears in hospital on psychiatric hold again

Britney SpearsBritney Spears has been hospitalised and put on a psychiatric hold for the second time in less a month after medics deemed she was a danger to herself or others.

Reports claim the plan was originally supposed to take place last night but was postponed at the last minute and eventually took place around 1am (local time).

Sources claim the star has been seeing a new psychiatrist this week but after daily sessions at Britney’s Beverly Hills home and observing a marked downturn in her behaviour, the doctor determined that she should be hospitalised to receive treatment for bipolar disorder. Britney is said to have been taking medication to treat the condition but it has either not been working or she has not been taking it as prescribed, and between use of prescription drugs and energy drinks, she has not slept since Saturday.

Police and medical services coordinated their actions to ensure Britney was taken to hospital with maximum efficiency, with Britney being referred to as “The Package” in coded radio conversations. Britney is said to have asked “is something wrong?” when told that an ambulance was on the way to pick her up then waited quietly for the vehicle to arrive. Her mum Lynne Spears and friend Sam Lufti waited with her but squabbled between themselves, causing Britney to eventually tell them to “shut the hell up”, saying “I’ll do what I need to do.”

Lynne drove to the hospital with Britney’s boyfling - and Sam’s nemesis - Adnan Ghalib and was met at UCLA Medical Center by Britney’s dad Jamie Spears where new tensions cropped up between the family and Lufti. After her earlier hospitalisation, Britney’s lawyers are said to have started drafting paperwork to give Sam, not her parents, power to make medical decisions on Britney’s behalf but with nothing yet officially signed, her dad Jamie Spears was reportedly angry when doctors looked to Sam for authority. Britney herself is said to be calm and cooperating with doctors.

She is initially being held on a 72-hour “5150″ hold but can not be forced to take medication during that time. However if she refuses, doctors are likely to go to court to ask for her to be held for another 14 days, during which time medication could be properly administered.

UPDATE: UCLA doctors are now said to be “fully cooperating” with Britney’s parents rather than Sam Lufti after a judge signed officially signed the order keeping Britney on the hold for three days. A power of attorney order has yet to be finalised but Sam is said to have left the hospital.

Kate Hudson: Matthew McConaughey will be a great dad

Kate HudsonKate Hudson has said she thinks Matthew McConaughey will be a great dad when his first child is born later this year.

Last month Matthew revealed that he and girlfriend Camila Alves “made a baby” and the child is due in the late summer.

Speaking about her Fool’s Gold co-star recently, Kate said: “I think he will be an incredible dad.”

“I think because people see Matthew always out doing something whether [it’s] out dancing in a bar or being on the beach or taking a hike with some crazy bandana on, I think that, like anything, they take their image and what they want somebody else to be and then they just run with that.”

“[But] Matthew happens to be one of the most loving and loyal people I know and his family is important to him.”

“He’s great with kids and I think he’ll be a very responsible and absolute blast of a dad.”

Nigella Lawson: I won’t leave my money to my children

Nigella LawsonNigella Lawson has revealed she doesn’t intend to leave any money to her children after she dies.

The cookery programme presenter Nigella and husband Charles Saatchi are said to have an estimated £110million between them but Nigella, the daughter of former Chancellor of the Exchequer Nigel Lawson, has no intention of leaving it to her children Cosima and Bruno or Phoebe, Charles’s daughter from a previous relationship.

She told My Weekly recently that she wants her children to appreciate the value of money and that “you have to work in order to earn money.”

“I am determined that my children should have no financial security. It ruins people not having to earn money.”

“I argue with my husband Charles, because he believes that you should be able to leave money to your children.”

“I think we’ll have to agree to disagree.”

She did not say what would happen to her money instead but has worked closely with cancer charities in the past, sparking suggestions she would donate it to a good cause.

Tom Cruise & John Travolta conned by Heath Ledger dad imposter

Heath LedgerAn imposter claiming to be Heath Ledger’s dad fooled celebrities including Tom Cruise and John Travolta into consoling him in the wake of the actor’s death.

After Heath died on Tuesday, the man pretending to be Kim Ledger called the funeral home dealing with the body and persuaded them to make a book for him and his family at a luxury hotel in New York. The man also spoke to the Doctor Who performed the autopsy on Heath before turning his attention to Hollywood stars.

A source has revealed the man “had a couple of conversations” about the death with Tom Cruise and asked for emotional support from the star while he asked John Travolta to buy him a first class place ticket from Australia to Los Angeles and then onto New York.

John’s spokesperson confirmed the conversation, saying: “John spoke with the guy briefly before he realised he was an imposter. He did not make arrangements to buy him plane ticket.”

The man is also said to have called a third unidentified Hollywood star to get phone numbers for Heath’s former co-stars Mel Gibson and Christian Bale.

New York Police have said they’re investigating the hoax calls and the man will face charges of fraud and theft when caught.
