Kate Bosworth: I didn’t have an eating disorder, it was just a hard time

Kate BosworthKate Bosworth has denied that she had an eating disorder when her weight dropped significantly in 2006.

The Superman Returns actress said recently: “I went through a really tough time about a year and a half ago.”

“It was made into this whole eating disorder thing, but it had nothing to do with it. I was just going through some serious emotional problems.”

As well as the end of her long-term relationship with Orlando Bloom, the actress added: “People don’t know, but we found out a family member had a terminal illness and he just passed away, so it was like all these things were colliding.”

“That’s just how emotional stress affects my body.”

But even though she’s regained some of the weight now she says she feels the opposite pressure to most people in Hollywood: “I have pressure to be a size bigger. I feel like I get s**t all the time for being too small.”

Victoria Beckham throws luxury party for mum’s 60th birthday

Victoria BeckhamVictoria Beckham made sure her mum’s 60th birthday was memorable yesterday with a glamorous afternoon party at Claridge’s in London.

The former Spice Girl arrived at the hotel for the intimate party dressed in a white and silver cocktail dress with a fake fur bolero around midday and was later joined by a dozen friends and family including her sister Louise and her mother-in-law, David Beckham’s mum Sandra.

An inside source told the Mirror that the six hour party was catered by Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant and “I saw at least five bottles of Laurent Perrier pink champagne leave the room empty - and it costs £85 a bottle.”

“But it was clear from the amount of bubbly going into the room that money was no object and Victoria really wanted to spoil her mum and her friends.”

“Everyone was smiling - it looked like a really cool party.”

Kate Beckinsale: no nude scenes - I don’t want to embarrass by daughter

Kate BeckinsaleKate Beckinsale has said as well as avoiding sexy roles in the future, she’s determined to avoid stripping off in front of the camera even if the role calls for it.

She told AOL Movies recently that she’ll keep her clothes on to avoid embarrassing daughter Lily: “My mum was an actress, and she did a nude scene on television when I was about 9 or 10, and the crisis I had when everyone came to school the next day and told me they’d seen my mother naked just makes me kind of, you know.”

“I’m not in a big rush to do that to my child. She’s embarrassed enough that I’m an actress at all, without me being naked as well.”

Denise Van Outen: I’m much happier being a size 10

Denise Van OutenDenise van Outen has said she’s glad she’s moved back to the UK from Los Angeles because she couldn’t be bothered to keep up with the constant quest to be thinner and more highly polished than the next girl.

Denise spent just over a year in California, presenting Grease: You’re the One that I Want! but returned to the UK to be a judge on similar talent show Any Dream Will Do! then take her own stint in the West End in Rent.

She told the Sunday Mirror recently: “I think the women out there look weird. They all go to the same nose shop and end up having the same features. I have friends who have Botox and fillers and they’re only about 24 - I tell them they’re nuts.”

“The LA look is too exhausting for me. Look at Victoria Beckham, I don’t have time to be that polished. It’s really refreshing to be back home; I’ve got dark roots and I’ve not washed my hair for two days.”

She added that she’s also glad to have regained a bit of weight: “I shrunk when I was in Rent and I’m putting it back on, which is good. My boobs had gone and now they’re back.”

“I’m much happier being a size 10. When I go down to size 8 my boobs go a funny shape. I like them to be big and round, and when I’m thin all the fat goes out of them.”

Simon Pegg: pampering turns some actors into idiots

Simon PeggSimon Pegg has said he thinks that pampering can turns stars into idiots - but they often need it to survive.

The Shawn of the Dead star said recently: “I think the reason actors become idiots is because you’re treated so well. You’re driven everywhere, and you’re put up in really nice places.”

“The actors that turn into idiots are the ones that start believing it’s because they deserve it, not because they’re just not trusted, which is the truth.”

“The truth is actors are flaky, unreliable and mostly unstable people, and they need to be mollycoddled at all times.”

Angelina Jolie: got gestational diabetes, not married

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie might need to cut back on those craving cupcakes - she has reportedly developed gestational diabetes.

The actress is said to be around five months pregnant with twins but is finding this pregnancy a lot harder than her first.

A source told Star magazine that she’s “constantly tired” and is experiencing painful swelling caused by fluid build-ups: “Angie has gestational diabetes. She found out about a month ago and has been trying to keep it under wraps.”

“She’s been seeing a nutritionist about it - frequently.”

“She’s sick and irritable and feels heavy and weak.”

The condition affects around two percent of pregnant women and can cause pregnancy complications if not addressed. The disease usually subsides at the end of the pregnancy but there is an increased risk for both mother and child/children of developing type 2 diabetes later in life.

In related news, sources close to Angelina and partner Brad Pitt have denied rumours the couple got married yesterday.

Reports claim the pair married in a private ceremony at a church in the French Quarter of New Orleans but a source told People magazine there was “no wedding”.

Spokespeople for neither star have addressed the rumours.
