Kelly Osbourne has said she had no doubts about accepting Luke Worrell’s marriage proposal because she’s completely smitten.

The couple of eight months announced their engagement in November and Kelly told Closer magazine recently: “I’ve never been this mushy with anybody ever before, but this time I can’t help it.

“He’s perfect. Everything about him is brilliant.

“I’m happy. I love him and I’d do anything for him.”

But she added that “anything” won’t be starting a family just yet: “I’m not ready to have children yet. I’ve always wanted to have them - but not yet.

“Mum’s been trying to get me to have a happy accident for ages. She says: ‘Go on Kelly, just one little baby.’”

Diana Vickers‘ ex-boyfriend has said he is sure there is nothing going on between the X Factor star and her fellow contestant Eoghan Quigg.

Throughout the later weeks of the ITV1 talent contest, Diana and Eoghan were frequently linked - but denied a romance - then they were spotted kissing as Diana left the show’s final afterparty and Simon Cowell referred to them as “two kids in love“.

However Diana’s ex-boyfriend Chris Jones, who she dated for eight months but dumped just days after she was eliminated in the semi-final, has said he’s convinced there is nothing going on between Diana and Eoghan.

He told Heat magazine that he saw the singer over Christmas: “I don’t know if we will get back together or not.

“Diana hasn’t told me she is in love with Eoghan, so I’m really not sure what’s going on.”

He added it’s hard to deal with his fame-by-association: “It’s awful because everywhere I go, all of my mates - and people I’ve never met - know everything that’s happened between me and Diana. That’s quite hard to deal with.”

Number 5 - Britney Spears

Compared to where she was a year ago, Britney Spears has come a long, long way in 2008 - but she’s only at Number 5 in our list because while she does deserve credit, it all feels a bit flimsy to us - a bit of a sham. After a crazy January, her dad Jamie Spears was appointed her conservator in February and he basically stopped her from doing all her wacked-out stuff, stopped her from seeing bad influences and got her on medication. She comparatively disappeared from view for a few months then boom, was back with three awards at MTV VMAs in September and her whole ‘Circus’ comeback. She’s looking great but also looking a bit like she might be a Stepford daughter now. Let’s hope she can properly regain control of her life in 2009.

Number 4 - Jennifer Aniston

Like Ms Spears, Jennifer Aniston is looking really great right about now. A little bit of loving clearly agrees with her. After being (perhaps unwillingly) cast as the victim for the first few post-Brad years, she’s now coming into her own again. A nearly year long on-off fling with John Mayer has left her looking radiant and her new film Marley & Me has done very well at the US Christmas box office too. It’s a fun, sweet comedy so probably not going to be collecting armfuls of Oscars but it suits her and she seems much more comfortable with her life these days, and that’s really the best thing for her.

Number 3 - Peaches Geldof

A bit of an ‘ugh’ this one because it seems to have been a bit stunt driven but Peaches Geldof’s star has risen astronomically in 2008. That’s not to say she’s an A-lister just yet but she’s considerably more well known now than she was a year ago, when her biggest claim to fame was her dad and her partying habits. Ok, they’re still her main claims to fame but now she’s launched a limited edition fashion range (set to go less limited in the new year), is editing her own style magazine, has got a magazine column & home in New York and has upgraded from the trendy-rocker-boyfriend to the trendy-rocker-husband thanks to a quickie Las Vegas ceremony. Except to see a lot more of Peaches in 2009 whether you want to or not - and expect to see even more of her younger sister Pixie Geldof.

Number 2 - Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was our Number 5 last year’s People of the Year list and boy, we were right about seeing a lot more of her this year. And we don’t just mean literally seeing a lot more of her given the various photo “scandals”.

Still only just 16, the Hannah Montana star seems to revel in the limelight and seems to be having a lot of fun too. We wouldn’t be surprised if she leaves restricting Disney behind soon but she’s such a character, she’s sure to go onto bigger and better things after that.

Number 1 - our person of the year 2008 - Cheryl Cole

It’s been a helluva year for Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole. It started badly - when a kiss-and-tell story nearly ended her marriage to Ashley Cole - but she pulled it back, they decided to give things another go and then she signed up to be Sharon Osbourne’s last minute replacement on The X Factor. It seemed an odd decision to start with - because she’s hardly an industry veteran - but she was a hit with Simon Cowell and the show’s audience - and of course her mentoring of Alexandra Burke helped the singer win the £1million record contract prize. Oh, and Girls Aloud’s fourth album ‘Tangled Up’, released at the end of 2007, went platinum, their new album, released last month, topped the album charts and they had their longest, sell-out tour to date. Phew.

Cate Blanchett has revealed she couldn’t resist accepting now-husband Andrew Upton’s proposal because it just felt so right.

Benjamin Button star Cate told Vanity Fair recently that she “clicked” with the writer and theatre director from the very start: “He turned to me after a few days and said, ‘Cate … ,’ and I thought, ‘Oh, god, he’s going to ask me to marry him - and I’m going to have to say yes!’

“He didn’t, in fact; he asked me what I wanted for dinner or something like that. But I’d never had that thought before.

“I thought, ‘This is extraordinary! I’ve never felt this before. What an adventure!’”

But he did propose a few weeks later: “We were in exactly the same place at exactly the same time.

“We sort of clicked … It’s a relief and a pleasure.”

The couple celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary yesterday after marrying in 1997 and have three sons: seven year old Dashiell, four year old Roman and eight month old Ignatius.

On the subject of more children, Cate added that she’s not decided either way yet: “Who knows? Don’t close those doors. The world is very overpopulated, but we do make nice ones.”

Britney Spears has found herself a new boy fling, according to reports.

According to the Mirror, the singer hooked up with a dance instructor, Sandip Soparrkar, after he choreographed her ‘Womanizer’ video and even flew to his native India to spend three days with him in Jodphur over Christmas.

A source told the newspaper: “It’s early days but their romance is going from strength to strength.

“Britney and Sandip tried to keep their reunion in India hush-hush as they’re determined to have a relationship just like any other couple.

“Sandip is very down to earth and keeps Britney grounded. He’s also quite spiritual and sensitive, which is a side of him she adores.

“For Christmas, Sandip - or Sandy as Britney calls him - presented her with a traditional Indian sari. She wore it during a candlelit dinner.”

Britney is set to spend New Year at her home in Los Angeles and reportedly took home 3kg of Indian sweets for her sons as a present from her trip.

Emma Watson has said she doesn’t know whether she wants to be an actress for the rest of her life.

The Harry Potter star won her part in the fantasy franchise when she was just nine years old but after she finishes filming the last of the movies in 2009, she plans to attend university - and doesn’t know if she’ll return to the limelight after that.

She explained this weeked: “It’s weird because I’ve always felt uncertain that acting is what I wanted to do, especially compared to Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

“I think that’s because I was nine years old when I was given the part without even going to acting school.

“Just because this has happened to me doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right thing. I didn’t know I wanted to be an actress, they just found me out of nowhere.

“So it’s taken me a little while to work out that this was what I wanted to do - well, for now.”

She added: “I’ve come from a background of lawyers and academics. We didn’t watch films in our household.

“I mean, I had no idea who Maggie Smith or Gary Oldman or any of these people were.

“So I’m educating myself by watching more films and becoming very passionate about them. But it doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll be acting forever.”
