Eddie Murphy has married his girlfriend of just over a year, Tracey Edmonds, in a beach ceremony in French Polynesia.

The couple exchanged their vows on a private island off Bora Bora in the south Pacific yesterday, in front of 25 friends and family members. The ceremony took place under a gazebo decorated with 6000 shells, specially created for the event by designer Colin Cowie.

Eddie wore a cream suit and Tracey wore a custom-designed form-fitting dress in white and cream - but walked down the aisle barefoot.

The wedding cake reflected the colours of their outfits, with four layers of whites and creams, decorated with handmade sugar orchids.

An inside source revealed: “It was all just beautiful. The location was perfect and everything else was simple yet stylish. Eddie and Tracey couldn’t be happier together.”

The couple got engaged in July after they began dating in late 2006. They have both been married previously and have nine children between them.
