After “spiritual ceremony”, Eddie Murphy & Tracey Edmonds will marry legally on return to US
Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds may have held a wedding ceremony on a private island in the South Pacific on New Year’s Day but they’ll have to exchange their vows again once they return to the US.
Weddings in French Polynesia are usually only legally valid if both parties have lived in the country for the 30 days on the run up to their nuptials and as Eddie & Tracey only arrived in the area at the weekend, their lavish ceremony was just symbolic.
Tracey’s spokesperson told People magazine: “As is typical when couples get married in foreign countries, a legal ceremony will take place when they return to the US.”
“The wedding that took place in Bora Bora was a ceremony to bind Eddie and Tracey spiritually in the presence of family and friends. The couple plan a legal ceremony as soon as they return to the States.”
